We enjoyed our break in your comfortable cottage even though the weather wasn't great! It was a lovely base to explore the surrounding area; Battle, Rye, Tenterden and Hastings are all worth a visit. It was really nice to arrive to a lovely welcome hamper too, thanks so much.

Wow what a beautiful place. Everything at hand. Had to cut our visit short but we will be back. Loved the area plenty to see and do. Our two dogs really enjoyed all the walking

A lovely stay in a 'bonus' May heatwave! We enjoyed sitting on the terrace for almost every meal! Beautifully equipped cottage and wonderfully clean. 'Thank you' for the fabulous hamper - a great treat. Would love to visit again, perhaps as a group taking both East and West Stables

We had a great week and did some lovely walking, particularly enjoyed the Seven Sisters. Accommodation was perfect and met all our needs. Thank you

Another very comfortable stay at The Stables. We have been coming here for many years and hope to be back next year, or earlier.

Myself, partner and 90yr mother arrived to find very nice well presented, clean, fully-equipped for all our needs plus more. Extra blankets in place, welcome pack really nice thought. Wehad a lovely time, Mum visiting old friend in Rye (bucket list). Will come back again

Thank you for a super week in your warm, cosy cottage. Beautifully equipped with a tasteful welcome pack & lots of great helpful items & treats for the dogs. It has been a great base from which to spend time with both family and friends living in this area. We really appreciated safe areas to walk and run the dogs. We hope to visit again.

A great little gem in the countryside of East Sussex. It was lovely to relax and visit Battle and Sedlescombe especially the pub! Very clean and presentable stable with everything you need. It was a nice treat to have the hamper bits. Would love to return. Thank you for a restful stay.

Had a wonderful stay at the Sawmill Cottage. Close to everything we needed and the hamper was great.

A lovely place to relax and unwind to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Weather pretty awful but didn't matter knowing we were tucked away nice and cosy. Had a lovely day in Battle and recommend the Abbey restaurant. We have really enjoyed our stay in Jessie. Thank you for the perfect stay and all the lovely touches that made it special. The dog towels and treats were really needed especially with all the rain!

Thank you for such a lovely stay, we had such a relaxing time, Jessie is wonderful. Our little dog Nellie loved exploring the orchard too. I'm sure we will be back for another stay soon.

Wow! What a fabulous place! As soon as we saw Jessie we fell in love. The carts were a great touch and made even arriving even more of an adventure. Walking down the path was genuinely a magical experience and we couldn't believe how much space we had. Neither of us had ever taken notice of birds before but using the binoculars we spotted lots of new birds and a gorgeous woodpecker. The bread, eggs, milk etc was such a lovely touch and we really appreciated them. Thehut has everything you need and has been finished perfectly. We loved having a bbq and enjoying the view and will definitely miss waking up here. After a tough few months this stay was exactly what we needed. Thank you so so much Sue & team! We can't wait to come back.

We have had a fantastic week at Castlemans, perfect spot for what we wanted to do. Weather has been brilliant! The stables were better than the adverts, a real 5-star place. All of the little extras were very welcome. The dogs loved staying and made themselves right at home.
The location is brilliant for all we wanted to see. Battle Abbey & the Battle Walk was great, we also went to Dover Castle as only 1hr 10min away. Great day out!
Next day we did Canterbury Cathedral, again only 1hr 10min away. Another good day out. Hastings Old Town was good + St Leonards and Bexhill.
As for eating out we found The Queens Head very good, very welcoming & food excellent. As was The William the Conqueror at Rye Harbour.
We all would come again, such a lovely place.

We've had a wonderful stay in this comfortable well-equipped spotlessly clean property. Battle Abbey is definitely worth a visit. For dog walkers, Battle Great Wood, Brede High Woods (but really muddy at present) and further afield, Camber Sands. Much more that we haven't seen on this brief visit but we'd all be happy to return

Third visit to this cottage. So convenient, comfortable, clean and nicely furnished! Weather not amazing but not as bad as when I got snowed in! Only criticism is could do with a couple of pyrex dishes but can't fault the rest. See you next year.

Another visit to this wonderful cottage. We book every year (8th) its home from home. This year is somewhat sad as every year we would bring our lovely dog (Tia) but earlier in the year she sadly passed away. She loved coming here and having the Common for her walks. The cottage is perfect for everything you could need and ask for - welcome hamper always goes down well, local walks, central places to visit, shopping etc. But of course the cottage is so tidy & clean (as always). We still walk the common every day (Tia in our hearts). While we were here we visited Brighton, Tonbridge etc. Thank you Sue, Stephen & team. See you next year!

A perfect blend! On one side an amazing choice of the best restaurants and shops (dog friendly) and on the other a Common which the dog loved every morning! With a lovely well appointed Cottage in the middle. Thank you!

Our first visit to both Castlemans and Sussex, we loved both. Cottage well equipped, next time we will bring our dogs. So much to do in this area so many walks:)

Lovely, wonderfully thought out. Had all we wanted and more. Our 7 month old Golden Retriever loved the orchard and we knew she was safe is its so well fenced in. The groceries were a great and thoughtful touch. We agree that the White Dog is superb and very dog friendly. We were unlucky with the weather but the log burner was superb and we were all cosy and warm. Would come back for sure.

Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful home with us:). what an amazing place to stay, the location is fabulous. A good place to rest, chillout and recuperate. I love the stunning views and the birdsong. Recommendation:- The Queens Head - amazing Sunday lunch and amazing feathered friends too. Two adult geese and 4 very cute goslings. Apparently my shoe laces weren't tied correctly hence having my shoe laces untied, both feet. Blackbrooks Garden centre - amazing food, homemade foods, plants and great gifts. See you again soon.

A very happy return to Castlemans after a previous stay in the stables! The hut is so cleverly designed and thought out to make the best of the space and the stove kept us nice and cosy in the chilly evenings. Supplies provided were much appreciated - thank you. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay in your shepherds hut 'Jessie'. We've had a brilliant time and we're really impressed with all of the amenities and thought and care you have clearly put in for people to stay here. The playing cards & books were a really nice touch as well as the toiletries, tea & coffee and other essentials. This has been such a special stay for us - nice for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax next to the wood fire in a very comfy bed. We would definitely like to stay here again and are thinking of returning with some of our friends who we think would also like it here. Thanks so much!

Thank you for a lovely stay. We had a wonderful time exploring 1066 Country with our kids - its a perfect spot even in the autumn. Theo enjoyed the sheep and cows and the trip on the steam train was fabulous. About 15 mins away is a lovely park for the little ones that was also enjoyed. Thanks for a fab stay!

We had such a lovely stay at the cottage. Plenty of space and so well equipped. The welcome basket was fantastic also one for the dogs with beds, blankets and dog bowls. The area has so much to see. We enjoyed Sissinghurst Castle gardens, Battle Abbey, Rye and Royal Tunbridge Wells. It was really a pleasure to stay here. We hope to visit again. The Union in Rye has delicious veggie food and is accommodating for dogs - lovely!
